AFL Players Unveil Top 50 – Number 10

Which modern AFL superstars are most respected by their peers?

In the lead-up to Round 1, aflplayers.com.au (in conjunction with afl.com.au) will reveal the top 50 players in the game, as voted by the players.

Port Adelaide midfielder Robbie Gray has been voted the 10th best player in the competition by his peers.

The dynamic midfielder continued his dominance for the Power claiming a second consecutive best and fairest award and another All-Australian selection after a stellar 2015 season.

Gray is the only player in this year’s Players’ Top 50 to keep the same ranking from the previous season.

The 27-year-old is regarded as one of the competition’s best inside midfielders and is also dangerous around goals, kicking the most majors of any player to average more than 23 disposals last year. He also ranked inside the top six in the AFL for average clearances and contested possessions in 2015.

Gray follows Chad Wingard (21) and skipper Travis Boak (16) as Port’s representatives in this year’s Players’ Top 50 so far.

Robbie Gray 2015 stats (21 games):

Average disposals: 26.29. Contested possessions: 14.14. Tackles: 4.33. Clearances: 7.67. Goals: 25.
