Over the halfway mark of the season, Fremantle skipper Nathan Fyfe has extended his lead in the 2018 Shadforth Financial Group AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.
Polling eight votes from the coaches in game 150, Fyfe collected 30 disposals, seven inside 50s and two goals in the Dockers triumphant win over the Blues on Saturday, taking his lead from four votes to 11 at the end of Round 13.
Fremantle ball-winner Lachie Neale was unanimously named best on ground by the coaches, polling maximum votes for his 33 touches and three goals.
Hawthorn ball-magnet, Tom Mitchell, jumped from seventh to second place following his 40 disposals and nine clearances in their Saturday night victory against Adelaide, polling eight votes coaches’ votes.
Despite going down by 15 points in a low-scoring affair, West Coast’s Elliot Yeo still managed 10 votes after his 29 disposals, 13 inside 50s and two goals against the swans on Friday night. Yeo also moved into the leaderboard for his efforts.
Four players received maximum votes from the coaches in Round 13, including Neale, Yeo, Ollie Wines (35 disposals and one goals) and James Sicily (24 touches and three goals).
