Fremantle midfielder headlines MVP of the Week nominees

By

A prolific performance from Fremantle midfielder Kiara Bowers headlines the nominations for this week’s AFLW MVP of the Week nominees, presented by Gloria Jean’s. Bowers is joined by Adelaide’s Ebony Marinoff and Carlton’s Madison Prespakis.

Nominated for the second week in a row, Bowers led Fremantle to a crucial 36-point win over Geelong to edge closer to securing a finals berth in conference A. Bowers gathered 16 disposals, laid a mammoth 19 tackles and collected eight clearances in a prolific performance.

Bowers had 13 tackles to half-time and looked set to break the record by Adelaide’s Ebony Marinoff before the midfielder shifted to an offensive role for the second half.

Adelaide midfielder Marinoff continued her remarkable season earning her third AFLW MVP of the Week nomination as the Crows cruised to a 32-point victory over the GWS Giants to move into first place in conference A. Marinoff gathered 24 disposals, laid 10 tackles and collected eight clearances in another best-on-ground performance.

Carlton young gun Prespakis earned her second nomination for the season after an impressive performance that led the Blues to a 16-point victory over last year’s grand finalists Brisbane.

Prespakis collected 27 touches as Carlton jumped to the top of conference B and all but secured their first AFLW finals campaign.
