Indigenous All Stars select captain

The AFL All Stars have tonight selected Shaun Burgoyne to captain their side for the match against West Coast on Friday night.

“I’m honoured to be leading the boys out on Friday night” – Shaun Burgoyne

In a unanimous vote, the Indigenous All Stars voted the dual Hawthorn premiership player to lead the team, with the final squad to be announced on Thursday.

Burgoyne is in Perth with more than 60 Indigenous players from across the competition this week for the biennial AFL/AFL Players’ Association Indigenous Camp.

This will be the first time Burgoyne has been named Captain of the All Stars side.

“I’m honoured to be leading the boys out on Friday night against the Eagles,” Burgoyne said.

“It’s a great opportunity to play on the same side as these boys and it’s an opportunity I’m grateful for.”
