MOMENT IN THE SUN FOR HARBROW

By

Gold Coast defender Jarrod Harbrow will become the first man to rack up 100 AFL games for the Suns when he runs out in the home game against Melbourne on Saturday afternoon.

“It’s a small little milestone, something I’m pretty proud of,” Harbrow told SUNS TV.

“Always thankful for the football club for giving me the opportunity. It’ll make it a bit more sweeter if we have a win.”

Also one of six Suns to have played finals football at a previous AFL club, the former Western Bulldog hopes this season to be part of another first – being in a Gold Coast team that finishes in the top eight.

The 27 year old played in nine finals with the Dogs during their three consecutive seasons of reaching prelims in 2008-10.

He knows that Saturday’s twilight match against Melbourne at the Metricon Stadium will be vital if the Suns want to turn around their season and push for September action.

Harbrow said the coaches put the team through a forthright game review after last Sunday’s 120-point hammering from Geelong, and the players were determined to ramp up the “pressure and bringing effort’’ against the Demons.

Harbrow is part of the Gold Coast leadership group and captained the Suns during the pre-season NAB Challenge.
