As the final two teams were decided in what were two whitewash Preliminary Finals, AFLPlayers.com.au have found those who played an underrated hand from the four teams involved in the penultimate weekend of footy.

Collingwood: Levi Greenwood

Regardless of whether Dustin Martin was underdone or not, Levi Greenwood’s attention and ability to stick to his task on Friday night played a massive role in stifling the superstar and leading Collingwood to victory. He also laid a game-high 10 tackles and finished with 16 disposals and six inside 50s.

Richmond: Jack Riewoldt

He was clearly the Tigers best, and had they won, this performance would have gone down in finals folklore. The Richmond spearhead kicked five goals, clunked nine marks (seven inside 50) and had seven score involvements. He was one of the few Tigers who could leave the ground with their head held high.

West Coast: Jack Redden

He’s enjoyed his best season at the Eagles in 2018, and now he gets the opportunity to play in his first Grand Final. Jack Redden put in another consistent shift on Saturday afternoon, gathering 31 possessions to go with a game-high eight tackles, 13 marks, nine score involvements and six inside 50s.

Melbourne: Jack Viney

It was the dirtiest of days for the Demons, which made selecting a representative from their 66-point losing side very difficult. Co-captain Jack Viney was far from his best, but his 21 disposals (17 of which were contested), 11 clearances and his ability to run all day and compete in trying circumstances stood out.
