A best-on-ground performance from Carlton midfielder Lauren Brazzale headlines the nominations for this week’s AFLW MVP of the Week, presented by Gloria Jean’s. Brazzale is joined by Adelaide’s Ebony Marinoff and Erin Phillips.

Nominated for the first time in her career, Brazzale collected 22 disposals and seven inside 50s as Carlton defeated Fremantle by 36 points. Without Kiara Bowers in the engine room for the Dockers, Brazzale took control to lead the underdogs to victory and their first tilt at the AFLW premiership.
Continuing her dominant season and staking her claim for the Crows best-and-fairest, Marinoff gathered 27 touches, including 22 kicks, laying 10 tackles and eight inside 50s as the Crows stormed home to their second AFLW grand final. In a best-on-ground performance Marinoff also kicked two goals, showing her growth this season as a bona fide star of the competition.
Earning her fourth nomination for the 2019 season, Phillips broke an early Melissa Hickey tag to collect 23 disposals. After a slow start Phillips finished the game with six tackles, six insides 50s and three marks.
The AFL Players’ Association has partnered with Gloria Jean’s again in 2019 to stage the prestigious AFLW Players’ MVP Award at the end of the season, and the AFLW MVP of the Week.
Fans will get the choice to select the MVP of the Week, after three names have been put forward by the AFLPA.
