Ziebell backs responsible gambling

For many supporters the return of footy simply means dusting off the club scarf and heading to a game. For others, it signals the return of something entirely different.

There are more AFL betting markets on offer than ever before, and more betting agencies too. While many enjoy having a punt on the footy, gambling can quickly become a problem.

North Melbourne vice-captain Jack Ziebell has teamed up with the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation to raise awareness about problem gambling and highlight some of the warning signs.

“It’s often difficult to identify if your mate has a problem with gambling,” Ziebell says.

“Gambling is generally hidden, like alcohol and drug abuse.”

In the video below Ziebell outlines what to look out for, and what steps to take if you’re worried about a friend or loved one who may have a gambling issue.
