A number of AFLW stars were making history this week, with Geelong Cats record-breaker Amy McDonald receiving her first AFLW MVP of the Week nomination for the season, presented by Snaffle.

The Cats’ midfielder is in good company this week, with Fremantle captain Hayley Miller and Adelaide Crows’ Ebony Marinoff also in the mix for the fan-voted weekly award.

Dockers’ skipper Hayley Miller was everywhere in the Derby, earning herself best on ground as Fremantle remained undefeated against its West Coast rivals. Clocking 26 disposals, nine clearances, and six tackles, Miller’s effort in the midfield only got better in the second half.

Adelaide Crows midfielder Ebony Marinoff was another best on ground last week, with a career-high 36 disposals (including 22 contested possessions), 12 tackles, eight inside 50s, seven clearances, and a goal to top it off. Making AFLW history with the biggest win to date, the Crows left the Giants goalless with a winning margin of 96 points.

Geelong’s Amy McDonald was breaking records this week, with 23 contested possessions – the most in a match in AFLW history.

But if that wasn’t enough, the midfielder also became the only AFLW player to hold 30+ disposals, 10+ tackles, and 10+ clearances in a game. McDonald’s impressive 34 disposals now holds the record for most disposals in a match for the club’s AFLW side.
