Bernie Vince and Josh Gibson have long been regarded as two of the sharpest-looking players to grace the MCG during winter – but this spring, they’ll be strutting their stuff at the Flemington Racecourse instead.
As part of the AFL Players’ Association’s new partnership with Myer, the smooth-moving duo have been announced as Spring Racing Ambassadors.
“A cheaper tailored suit is always better than an expensive ill-fitting suit.” – Josh Gibson
They’ve featured in the The Suiting Edition of Myer’s most recent catalogue, offered their spring racing style tips – Vince and Gibson agree wearing white shoes is the cardinal sin as far as fashion faux pas go – and have popped up in the Confidential section of Herald Sun, on Triple M and alongside Rachel Finch at Flemington.
As part of their role with Myer, the duo are hoping to help men attending the races look their best and enjoy themselves.
“At the races, men should never wear a badly tailored suit,” Gibson said. “A cheaper tailored suit is always better than an expensive ill-fitting suit.”
Vince agreed, adding that the tried and true ‘less is more’ policy has always served him well at the races.
“I like to keep it simple and comfortable to ensure I’m confident in what I’m wearing.”
