AFL COACHES’ VOTES – ROUND 15

Sydney’s Dan Hannebery has clawed back another six votes on AFL Coaches’ Association Champion Player of the Year leader Nat Fyfe, who failed to poll a vote in Fremantle’s capitulation to Hawthorn on Sunday.

Hannebery’s teammate, Josh Kennedy, also climbed back onto the AFL Coaches’ leaderboard, courtesy of a perfect 10 from the coaches.

Port Adelaide’s Ollie Wines, Richmond’s Alex Rance, Western Bulldogs’ Marcus Bontempelli, North Melbourne’s Ben Cunnington and Hawthorn’s Sam Mitchell were also given 10 votes over the weekend.

Elsewhere, young West Coast midfielder Andrew Gaff jumped onto the podium, thanks to a nine-vote performance in the Eagles’ win over the Crows.

Interestingly, Brad and Chris Scott shared very similar views when handing out their votes for the North Melbourne v Geelong clash – the twin brothers agreed on the top five players on the ground. The only slight disagreement came when one coach gave Jimmy Bartel a four and Todd Goldstein and a three, and the other did the opposite.

Young Bomber Joe Daniher was acknowledged for one of his best games at AFL level – his five goals was enough to get him nine votes. Essendon defender Michael Hurley also received nine.
