AFL Players’ Alumni go golfing

More than 50 past players gathered at The Dunes golf course in Rye for the return of the AFL Players’ Alumni golf day, on Friday week.

In sunny conditions, albeit typically windy, 18 holes were played in a four-ball, Ambrose format.

From Gary Buckanara to the recently retired Jordan Russell, there was a broad spectrum of players covering multiple eras.

While there was some forgettable golf shots played on the day, it was overall a memorable day with a chartered bus and the 19th hole providing plenty of opportunities for the execution of some tall stories.
