Boomer signs on after milestone match

Brent Harvey did plenty of hard yards on his way to 400 AFL matches with North Melbourne. When he hit the milestone, however, it got even busier.

Just days after Harvey became the fourth man to reach 400 AFL games he was signing hundreds of memorabilia items to mark his incredible effort.

Jumpers, posters, boots and even the coin tossed at the start of the game were part of the swag of items available to fans.

What made the signing slog easier for Harvey was the result of his 400th – an important win against Brisbane.

“Like I said all week the most important thing was (to get a win and) sing the song with my teammates.

“There’s a lot of jumpers and a lot of posters but it’s a great set up.

“These are the only items that are AFL Official Memorabilia and authenticated by the AFL Players’ Association.

“It’s good that it’s done properly.”

Much of the memorabilia has been snapped up but the little North Melbourne champion was under strict instructions from his 11-year-old son to bring some home.

“He wants a couple of jumpers to hang up in his room so I will try and make sure I look after him.”
