Fremantle’s tackling machine Kiara Bowers is joined by Essendon’s Madison Prespakis and Geelong’s Chloe Scheer as the nominees for Round 7 AFLW MVP of the Week, proudly presented by Snaffle.
Kiara Bowers was unstoppable in Fremantle’s midfield on Saturday, finishing the match with 29 disposals and a whopping career-high 19 tackles. Despite their best efforts the Dockers couldn’t get over the line, but the unrelenting pressure from the tough midfielder ensured a tight contest throughout.
Madison Prespakis was another standout from a team that couldn’t quite get the win. The star midfielder was in top form during the Bombers’ clash against the Cats, finishing with 10 clearances and a game and career-high 37 disposals, the second-most of all time in the AFLW competition.
Although Essendon and Geelong were tied at three-quarter time, it was the Chloe Scheer who sealed the win for the Cats. Scheer kicked three goals in total, but it was the back-to-back goals in the last quarter, along with three behinds, that secured Geelong a 15-point win by the final siren.
