In a record-breaking win, Vescio kicked a career-high five goals from 15 touches as the Blues steamrolled the Suns to secure a 60-point win. Vescio’s five majors also bought her career tally to 40, becoming the first AFLW player to reach the milestone.

Led by 19-year-old Dawes, Brisbane all but secured a top-two spot with a 15-point victory over North Melbourne. The talented midfielder was consistent across four quarters, finishing with 19 touches, four inside 50s and three marks.

Rounding out the three nominees, last year’s AFLW Players’ best-first-year player Georgia Patrikios was a shining light in her side’s 46-point loss to top-of-the-table Collingwood. Patrikios gathered 29 touches, laid six tackles and six inside 50s.
