Dockers sharpshooter claims AFLW MVP of the Week award

After putting up a match-winning effort against crosstown rivals West Coast, Fremantle’s Ebony Antonio has been voted Round 1 MVP of the Week, brought to you by Snaffle.

Antonio proved to be the difference in Fremantle’s 6.7 (43) to 2.3 (15) win over West Coast finishing with 3.1 from 12 disposals.

A highlight of Antonio’s stunning display came as the first quarter dwindled to a close. The 30-year-old sparked into action as she booted an AFLW Goal of the Year contender. The match remained close with just a five-point margin at three-quarter time.

But Antonio took the game into her own hands, kicking an all-important goal in the final term to help seal the Dockers 28-point win over the Eagles.

Antonio shared the well-deserved Western Derby Best-afield medal with teammate Kiara Bowers.
