Essendon’s Dyson Heppell was a special guest at the annual AFL Players’ Association and AFL SportsReady Next Goal Breakfast held at the MCG on Thursday morning.
The breakfast celebrates the achievements of players involved in the Next Goal program, which assists players in finding vocational pathways outside of football.
“An AFL career has the potential to set players up for life but post-football opportunities don’t just materialise overnight,” AFL Players’ Association General Manager of Player Development, Brett Johnson said.
“It is important foundations are set early in playing careers and the AFL SportsReady programs are key to providing that direction.”
The Next Goal Breakfast also served as a launch for the AFL Players’ latest Development and Wellbeing report, which you can read about here.
