Now entering the now entering the second year of a three year agreement, we are proud to continue our strong partnership with La Trobe University who are the “Higher Education Partner” of the AFL Players’ Association.
The partnership arrangement sees La Trobe work with the AFL Players’ Association on key research across a variety of sport related disciplines, including coaching, physiotherapy, psychology, exercise physiology, journalism, management and nutrition, highlighting sport as one of the University’s important components.
The Players’ Association will work with La Trobe’s academic group and student body to help grow the Players’ Association brand while also affirming La Trobe’s Elite Athlete Friendly University status.
Professor Russell Hoye, Director of La Trobe Sport, noted that the “AFL Players’ Association and La Trobe share the goal of making a substantial contribution to the ongoing sustainability of the Australian sport industry and the welfare of all its participants from grassroots to elite athletes”.
La Trobe University Master of Management (Sport Management)
The La Trobe University Master of Management (Sport Management) has been designed to equip students with core management skills, with a special focus on sport management.
The Master of Management (Sport Management) is a flexible degree, that builds on our partnerships with key sporting professional bodies and leading sporting identities such as La Trobe University s Vice Chancellors Fellow – Michael Malthouse.
Most classes are delivered in intensive blocks during business hours with an emphasis on cases and problem solving. Our first subject Sport Leadership and Governance will be delivered in March 2014 at our state of the art teaching campus at 360 Collins St in the Melbourne CBD. Credits for prior learning are available.
