Jasmine Garner starred in the Roos’ clash with the Power, finishing the match with 27 disposals and 717 metres gained – the second most in AFLW history. The star midfielder also managed seven score involvements and booted two majors of her own.
Melbourne midfielder Olivia Purcell was also a force over the weekend, collecting a game-high 32 disposals and seven inside-50s. It was a ladder-defining showdown against the Suns, with Purcell’s impact and slick ball movements through the midfield ensuring Melbourne maintained control of the play.
The nail-biter win for the Giants on Sunday saw young midfielder Alyce Parker lead with 30 disposals, 18 of those contested possessions. Parker was instrumental in the tight contest, finishing the match with seven score involvements, 11 clearances, and seven inside-50s.
