Molloy’s masterful game leads to AFLW MVP of the Week nomination

An outstanding performance from Collingwood’s Chloe Molloy headlines the Round 6 AFLW MVP of the Week nominations, proudly supported by Snaffle.

Gold Coast’s Alison Drennan and North Melbourne’s Jasmine Garner earned themselves the other nominations for the weekly award, for their strong performances over the weekend.

Molloy put in the work on Sunday to get her side back on the winner’s list; lifting a depleted Collingwood outfit to defeat West Coast 7.4 (46) to 3.4 (22).

Playing in the midfield, the 23-year-old was incredibly influential in the Pies’ 24-point win finishing the game with 18 disposals, six marks, four tackles and two goals.

Speedy midfielder Drennan was on fire in Gold Coast’s 7.7 (49) to 6.2 (38) win over Geelong on Friday night.

The 31-year-old put on a clinical display breaking her own record for most disposals by a Suns AFLW player in a match, with 30 touches and five tackles.

Helping to keep her side in contention for a run at finals, Drennan dictated play in the midfield allowing the Suns to dominate clearances 36-20 in their 11-point win over the Cats.

North Melbourne midfielder Jasmine Garner was dominant in her side’s 5.7 (37) to 2.6 (18) victory over Richmond on Saturday afternoon.

Continuing her fine form, the 27-year-old notched 26 touches, five tackles, and a goal in the Kangaroos’ 19-point win.

The reigning club Best & Fairest winner also had nine inside-50s, 12 contested possessions, and six marks.
