Pendlebury surprises TeamUp group

Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury has some serious tricks on the basketball court, as a lucky group of casual ‘ballers at MSAC found out yesterday.

The four-time All-Australian had made it known he was looking for a TeamUp activity to join on his day off, but hadn’t told anyone which activity he’d be joining.

The TeamUp app allows users to connect with other people in their area who are looking to exercise; the group at MSAC had arranged to meet through the app but were more than a little surprised when the last member, ‘Scott’ showed up and asked to join in.

“I wasn’t expecting Scott Pendlebury here!” one TeamUp member laughed.

“That was a nice surprise – it’s made it all a bit more fun!”

The champ showed he’s still more than handy with a round ball in hand, even challenging one promising junior to a game of one-on-one.

“It’s my day off today – I usually come down to MSAC and shoot some hoops.” Pendlebury said.

“It’s better than coming down and playing by myself, so I’m lucky I went to teamup.com.au and downloaded the app… It’s always more fun playing with other people.”

A sneak peek of Pendlebury’s one-on-one match can be found below.
