Statement from the Agent Accreditation Board AAB in relation in Michael Fox

Friday March 29, 2019

The Agent Accreditation Board (AAB) has found player agent Michael Fox to be in breach of Clause 10.2 of the Agents’ Code of Conduct, which prohibits an agent placing a bet or wager on any AFL contingency, by placing wagers in connection with two AFL events.

This activity was identified in a report from the AFL’s Integrity Department relating to the annual AFL gambling audit of all registered persons, which includes accredited player agents.

In determining the appropriate penalty, the AAB noted that Fox has no prior disciplinary action under the regulations, it’s the view of the Board that he did not rely on any information received in connection with his role as an agent in making these wagers and that they were at the lower end of the scale.

After considering all of the circumstances, the AAB has sanctioned Fox with a fine of $500 for the breach.
