FINDING A MEANINGFUL CAREER OUTSIDE OF FOOTBALL

Through the experience of playing AFL football at the highest level, our members gain a unique skill set that is transferable to a wide variety of professional industries outside of elite sport.

The AFL Players’ Association aims to support our members in harnessing these skills to pursue dual careers while they are in the game, and explore professional development opportunities that can fuel their passions long-term.

We offer our members access to online platforms where they can self-navigate their own professional development journey, as well as providing specific education aimed at harnessing skills such as networking to develop career development opportunities.

Additionally, the AFL Players Association has programs that connect members with endorsed organisations for a wide range of flexible work experience, employment and professional development opportunities. Each reputable, innovative, national and local employer understands the needs and skill sets of professional AFL Players, and has the capability to develop members as people and not just athletes.
