Most AFL players are active on social media, but few have utilised it quite like Hawthorn premiership hero Brian Lake. Rather than posting regular updates about his personal life, holidays, or golfing exploits – Brendon Goddard, we’re looking at you – Lake alerts his Twitter followers about bargains as he finds them.

The #briansbargains hash-tag took off quite some time ago, but has grown in popularity since Lake’s Grand Final performance, which saw him awarded the Norm Smith Medal.

There have been more than a few followers to point out Lake has been the best bargain of all; the Hawks traded picks 21 and 41 to the Bulldogs in last year’s draft in exchange for Lake and pick 27.
