“I remember getting my first bike when I was five years old, for Christmas, and straight away you got that sense of freedom. I was able to ride  to my mates house and ride down to footy training. When I am selling the bikes now you are selling that freedom as well.” 

James Magner is a no-fuss midfielder for the Melbourne Football Club, but off the field his business venture, Glowfixie, is causing plenty.

Sick and tired of sitting in heavy traffic on his way to training, Magner was convinced there must be another way. His decision to turn his car around, drive home and then ride his bike to training, gave birth to an idea.

Glowfixie is an online business selling glow in the dark fixed gear bikes. On the back of the popularity of the fixie culture, Magner decided his point of difference would be the glow in the dark wraps around the frames of the Glowfixie bikes.

Since selling his first bike a little more than three months ago, the Glowfixie trade is booming and several high profile AFL stars have thrown their support behind Magner and Glowfixie.
