A three-goal haul from Carlton’s Georgia Gee headline the nominees for the final AFLW MVP of the Week for 2020, with the season concluding prematurely due to COVID-19.

Collingwood’s Brittany Bonnici and Fremantle’s Kiara Bowers join Gee as the other nominees for this week.

After registering only three first-half disposals on the weekend, Gee came to life in the second half kicking three goals to help give Carlton a comfortable lead. The electric small forward brought her season tally to eight goals and finished the game with 12 touches, three inside 50s and two tackles.

Despite going down to North Melbourne in the dying minutes of Saturday’s game, Bonnici was a standout for the Pies, amassing 20 touches, eight handball receives, five inside 50s and laying three tackles. The 23-year-old finished her season on a high, showing why the Pies’ faithful love her so much.

Nominated for the third time this season, Bowers continued her magnificent season in Fremantle’s 70-point thrashing of the Gold Coast Suns. Bowers collected 22 touches, laid 18 tackles and took six marks as the Dockers finished their season undefeated.

The AFL Players’ Association AFLW MVP of the Week is in its third year and looks to recognise the AFLW’s best performers each round. Fans will get the choice to select the MVP of the Week, after three names have been put forward by the AFLPA.

All fans who vote will go into the running to win an Official AFLW gameball, valued at $189.99. To vote, simply select the player you deem to be the MVP of the Week. Voting closes on Wednesday, March 25 at 5pm AEDT.
