Gary Ablett didn’t take long to remind us what he’s capable of.
The little master started slowly by his standards, but was back to his old tricks before too long, notching 31 possessions and kicking three goals in the Suns’ upset win over the Kangaroos.
No matter who you go for, it’s great to see him back.

We’ve seen some pretty huge marks this year, but we may have seen a new leader emerge in the Mark of the Year race when Lindsay Thomas sat on Adam Saad’s head.

something Borrowed
Caleb Daniel has ‘cult hero’ written all over him.
At 167cm, Daniel is the shortest player in the game – equal with Brent Harvey – and if that doesn’t make him easy enough to spot, he also wears a helmet that looks like it’s been borrowed from Nathan Burke’s collection.
But after just half a game of AFL, one thing looks clear – Daniel looks looks a natural footballer.
“He’s not overly blessed with height, but he makes up for it in a lot of areas,” Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge said after the match.
“Tonight’s the start of his journey and he performed outstandingly well,”
Something Blue
We’ve never had a weekend of footy like it.
In the context of Friday’s events, the game felt pretty insignificant, and there was a sombre feeling at each match.
Amidst the sadness and shock permeating the footy community, there was also support and respect.
“I think the way the AFL community has got behind the players, from our perspective, has just been incredible,” AFL Players’ CEO Paul Marsh said on Friday.
“And for the AFL to cancel the game on Sunday at a time when the players clearly wouldn’t be up for that game, I think was the right move and commendable, and we congratulate the AFL and Gillon McLachlan for doing so.”
