Marcus Bontempelli (again):

Marcus Bontempelli became the first player in history to be selected four times in the 22Under22 team in 2017, and remarkably eclipsed that feat in 2018 with a fifth selection. For the third season in a row, the Western Bulldogs’ star was voted as captain by the fans, being joined by Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver as vice-captain.

Stephenson’s debut year to remember:

Collingwood’s Jaidyn Stephenson took all before him in his debut season, kicking 34 goals as the Pies climbed up the ladder and into the top four. Other players to have achieved this feat include, Jaeger O’Meara (2013), Tom Langdon (2014), Kade Kolodjashnij (2014), Marcus Bontempelli (2014), Luke McDonald (2014), Jake Lever (2015), Adam Saad (2015), Jacob Weitering (2016), Callum Mills (2016) and Andrew McGrath (2017).

Just one representative made it into the All-Australian team, with 22Under22 vice-captain Clayton Oliver receiving the accolade.

12 first-timers graced the 22Under22 team in 2018 (Alex Witherden, Conor McKenna, Tom Doedee, Jayden Short, Angus Brayshaw, Jade Gresham, Jordan De Goey, Ben Ronke, Jaidyn Stephenson, Sean Darcy, Ed Langdon and Tom Phillips).
