Torrens University

Short course offering

The AFLPA’s partnership with Torrens University Australia (TUA) ensures all members and their families are able to access on-line short courses free of charge. From Artificial Intelligence and UX to Social Media Marketing, Leadership and more, these are specialised courses that enhance skill sets and stay ahead in a rapidly changing jobscape. TUA’s short courses are self-contained and self-paced learning modules. They cover a range of topic areas that are aligned with current and future industry demands.

Torrens University Career & Course Counselling

Members are provided with access to individualised one-on-one career and course counselling from Torrens University’s qualified advisors, to support members in navigating the best courses that are available to them based on their career aspirations.

Education & Training Grants

Education and Training Grants are available to AFLPA members who are current AFL or AFLW players as well as past AFL and AFLW players who were on a club list in the past three years. Members can apply for grants to cover the cost of the following;

  • Masters 
  • University
  • Diploma
  • Professional qualifications
  • TAFE certificate
  • Short course

Players can apply by submitting an application via the Players’ Portal. Should you require assistance with login details please contact your Regional Manager.

Individual LinkedIn and CV development

To assist members with developing or updating their CV and optimising their profile, this session provides one-on-one bespoke consultations designed to maximise their professional brand. This session encompasses direct support with the development and/or creation of their LinkedIn profile and CV utilising a simple two-step process for members based on a proven formula for success.

The Players’ Network

The Players’ Network is a private and exclusive group to AFL Players’ Association members designed to create networking opportunities, connection and support for our members; to showcase your own ventures and promote your business, and most importantly, facilitate opportunities to learn and upskill. Players in Business offers our members the platform and support to grow themselves and their business. Whether you’re in a trade or on the trading floor then we want to hear from you!
