Gary Ayres Award: Week 2

Four players lead the 2017 AFLCA Gary Ayres Award after week two of the AFL finals series, with Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield receiving maximum votes for his semi-final efforts.

Dangerfield joins Sydney’s Josh Kennedy, West Coast’s Luke Shuey and GWS’ Callan Ward atop of the leaderboard after the Brownlow Medallist kicked four first-half goals and collected 26 disposals as the Cats stormed to the Preliminary Final.

Giants co-captain Ward received seven votes for his 28-disposal, one-goal effort as the club secured their second consecutive Preliminary Final berth, adding to his three votes in last week’s Qualifying Final defeat.
