A best-on-ground performance from Ebony Marinoff in Adelaide’s preliminary final win has earned her the AFLW MVP of the Week Award for the final time in 2021.
Marinoff took out the weekly fan-voted award, proudly supported by July, with 59 per cent of the vote ahead of Brisbane’s Dakota Davidson (26 per cent) and Crows teammate Anne Hatchard (15 per cent).
The 23-year-old was at her match-winning best in Saturday’s match, collecting a game-high 35 disposals, 13 tackles and seven inside 50s as the Crows stormed home to their third AFLW grand final berth.
In a hard-fought win, Davidson kicked a game-high three goals to help steer the Lions to a thrilling four-point victory over Collingwood. The 22-year-old was dominant in the forward-line, gathering 12 touches and taking five marks.
Rounding out the three nominees, Hatchard was also prolific in the 18-point victory, finishing the game with 27 touches and a goal.
The AFL Players’ Association AFLW MVP of the Week is in its fourth year and looks to recognise the AFLW’s best performers each round. Fans will get the choice to select the MVP of the Week, after three names have been put forward by the AFLPA.
All fans who vote will go into the running to win a personalised Carry Me bag from July, valued at $65. One lucky winner who votes each week will also go in the draw to win the ultimate July travel collection, including a Carry On, Checked & Checked Plus bag valued at $895.
