VicHealth Walk to School winners 2018 receive a visit from AFL players

Four schools won the chance to have an AFL or AFLW player visit their primary school after walking, scooting and riding in the 2018 VicHealth Walk to School program.

Essendon’s Devon Smith, Geelong’s Mel Hickey and North Melbourne’s Robbie Tarrant and Emma Kearney visited schools throughout regional Victoria earlier this year to run football clinics and reward students for engaging with VicHealth’s annual Walk to School program.

Walk to School is a free, easy and fun way to get primary school kids and their families active, by walking, riding or scooting to and from school, helping to build healthy habits for life.

Last year a record number of students across Victoria took part, with VicHealth teaming up with the AFL Players’ Association to encourage more students to walk, ride and scoot to and from school.
